This past weekend a small group of us planned a Tea Themed Baby Shower at The Jefferson It was my first time visiting the hotel, and it did not disappoint. Every step of the way, the staff was super helpful and accommodating, from putting us in the perfect spot for a private intimate occasion, to helping us choose a spot to pull off our surprise.
Emily thought she was helping me out with a photography project I was working on. She was going to be my maternity model, and pose for portraits alone, and with a baby model. Unbeknownst to her, we were all secretly plotting to surprise her with a shower to honor her as a friend and mother. The biggest surprise, was that her best friend was flying in with her 1 year old daughter to be there for the shower.
Upon arriving, I took Emily to a predetermined location “to get some test shots”. Little did she know that a group of her friends were hiding around the corner. During the course of her posing, our friends snuck up behind her and photobombed her pictures. The final moment was when I called my “assistant” to bring out the baby model. Imagine Emily’s shock at seeing Jenny and Annalisa smiling there at her, and right behind them, several of her other friends crying and cheering. It was so perfect!
The tea, the food, the service, the ambience, it was all magical. I’m so tickled we pulled off this very special surprise. If you ever need a place to host an event in Richmond, definitely check out The Jefferson!
